Walking bass as option: now chords switch on the first press

App and firmware update: Press the next chord button — the chord changes. Right away, no matter whether the previous button is still held down or not. We made legato the default.

Now chords switch on the first press

How it used to work

When you pressed the next chord button while holding the previous one, only the bass note would change. Press Am while C is still held — the bass moves to A, but Am doesn’t play yet. The full chord change only happened once the previous button was fully released. That was how Walking Bass mode worked — and it was on by default.

How it works now

C → Am → F → G — every change sounds on the first press. Whether you’re still holding the previous button or already let go doesn’t matter. Just play the sequence.

Walking Bass is still there

If you want the bass to walk between chords — Walking Bass is still available in the settings on main screen (swipe down). It’s a mode for more expressive chord transitions.

A note on tutorials

If you’ve watched our tutorials — they still describe the old behavior. Don’t get confused: chord buttons now work as described above. We’ll update the tutorials soon.

Update the app and firmware

The change is available in the latest version of Neoharp for iOS and Android. Update the app and firmware.
